John 3:16

For God so loved the world
That He gave His one and only Son,
That whoever believes in Him shall
not perish but have eternal life.

Katie went to Awana's with a friend on Sunday, to see what it was all about...she was hesitant to go at first, but went anyway and had a great time! That night we talked about what she did and what she learned at Awana's. She recited the bible verse John 3:16 that she had learned, and we talked about what the verse means... She didn't understand WHY God would send his only son to die for us, for her... we talked about how Jesus was perfect, and how he was who God sent to die for our sins. And that he did this because he LOVES us and wants us to be a part of His family in heaven one day. We talked about heaven and living with God in heaven. We have had many conversations about heaven, especially since, Uncle Justin has gone to live in heaven. We talked about what being a Christian means...having Jesus in your heart, and about the "special prayer" that you need to say so that you can become a Christian, and have Jesus in your heart and live forever in heaven. Then she said, "I want to be a Christian and say my "special prayer". I can't remember exactly, what she prayed as the two of us sat on her bed together, but it was the sweetest prayer I have ever heard, thanking God for sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross for her sins so that she can live with him forever in heaven, she ended her prayer with, "I love you, God! Amen! " October, 3, 2011 will forever be a special day! Thank You Jesus!
