Homework...

John usually doesn't get homework in Pre-K, but this week they had a family tree assignment. They had to draw a tree with a branch for each family member, add their picture and write their name, and then write their family name on the tree. I am so proud of his work...

Toby Keith Concert!

We celebrated Veteran's Day at the West Point Toby Keith Concert! What a great concert! It is wonderful to be in the presence of someone like Toby Keith, who is such a huge supporter of our nation's troops!

Diabetes...

Today marks my 1 year anniversary of being diagnosed with Type I diabetes. I remember that day like it was yesterday, the flood of emotions that was racing through my mind. Why me? Scared yet relieved to know why I was feeling so bad, anger, frustration, the list goes on. But, today I am thankful for the 32 years I was able to live healthy and diabetes free! This year was filled with 365 days of insulin shots...1,825 shots in my stomach...pricking my finger to test my blood sugar at least 2,000 times...blood test to check my A1C. And now as I look forward to this next year, I know each day will still include shots in my stomach & finger pricks, but I thank God each day for all the blessing he has given me. I have stopped asking, Why me? and I am grateful for each day that I have to live with my family. I am blessed!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

1st Snow Flakes....

"It's snowing! It's snowing!", the kids started screaming as the first flakes of the season were coming down!!! I wish I could truly explain the excitement of seeing the first snow flurry!!The kids were just about the head into school as the squeals erupted! The boys danced in circles with their tongues hanging out trying to catch a few flakes! I was so excited because for a minute I thought I had my camera with me, much to my disappointment when I discovered it was in the car. So I didn't get to snap the photo of the big white fluffy flakes coming down from the mountain or the boys dancing around in it, but I did get a picture of Luke catching the last of the morning snow flakes while Katie & John were at school...

Girls Night In...

...the boys went out to a tailgate and to see an Army rugby game. Katie was sick so we decided to have a GNI, playing Mall Madness, one my favorite games!!! Katie has inherited my LOVE of shopping! It is fun even with play $money$!!!
After she beat me at Mall Madness, we cuddled up and watched some Strawberry Shortcake!Such a fun night with my girl! Love you, Katie!
