Luke's 1st Movie...

I know this isn't a picture of Luke at this first movie, but I took this picture this week and thought it was too cute not to share! Luke is still very interested in the potty and this week he decided he needed a magazine to help him out! Plus, I know his Daddy will be proud he choose Iowa Outdoors! I took the kids to see Toy Story 3, so Luke had his first "Movie Theater Experience". He loved the big screen and the extra buttery popcorn, but he couldn't stay awake for the whole movie! Still a great movie will all the kids!

VBS Week!

Katie & John had Vacation Bible School this week! It was a High Seas Expedition! John LOVED the program and was excited to go everyday! Katie has been having a lot of separation anxiety since Donnie has been gone, so she wasn't as excited as John was to go to VBS! After we worked through the tears every morning, she had FUN! Thank you Karlee for helping Katie through the mornings! Katie said the best part of the week was singing songs! John said he liked doing crafts! We have been listening to the CD in the car everyday! I have even added the music to the iPod so Katie can listen to it on our trip! This was a very emotional week with lots of extra prayers! We made it through and John asked, "Mom when are you going to sign me up for VBS again?" God is good!

Happy Father's Day!

Donnie is still in Alabama at ILE, so we had Father's Day Dinner via web cam! The kids and I made pizza and set up the picnic table in the living room for a special treat!!!

John's Haircut!

This is the look of a kid who knows he is DEEP TROUBLE with his MOM!

John decide to cut his own hair with scissors! Yikes! These pictures don't even do the cut justice! You may be asking yourself what was John doing with scissors. The kids were making cards to send to Donnie for Father's Day and of course that involves scissors and glue! Katie came upstairs and said, "Mom, John cut his hair and it is short!" After finding John hiding under the end table. I asked him, "Why did you do this?" to which he answered through tears, "I wanted to look like Daddy!" He also told me that "it feels like Daddy's" as he was rubbing the bald spots on his head! The only thing we could do was shave it! I still can't believe it!

Aaron from the Barber Shop on post fixed him right up! This was of course, after MANY conversations about why we don't cut our own hair, and promising to NEVER do this again!

Delafield Pond

We took our first trip of the summer to Delafield Pond! The kids had a blast swimming and playing in the sand! It was even more fun because our friends from Stamford, CT were able to join us at the pond. The kids love playing with Henry & Robert! What a great day of fun in the sun!

Highland Falls Carnival

The kids have been begging to go to the Carnival all week! It was set up right across the street from John's school, so they saw it everyday! I finally gave in and took them to the Carnival. They LOVED riding the rides and Katie & John even won stuffed animals!

John's Last Day of Preschool!

John had his last day of Preschool at Sacred Heart. It was Beach Day! All the kids wore their swimsuits and had a blast pretending they were at the beach and playing water activities! They even finished off the year with an Ice Cream Sundae! John has made a lot of great friends this year and really enjoyed going to school to learn and play!

Strawberry Pickin'

The kids and I went to Lawrence Farms to go strawberry picking! What a perfect day! Everyone had fun picking strawberries and playing with friends! We ended up going home with over 7lbs of berries! We had fresh strawberry milkshakes, cold strawberry soup, and strawberry shortcake! Everything taste better with fresh strawberries!

Katie was a great strawberry picker! She was so excited and kept telling us that she was finding the BEST berries!

After picking strawberries we went to play in the "little village" and have a picnic lunch. The kids love playing in all the little houses and riding on the tractors! They even decided to eat their lunches in the church/school house! And a trip to the farm is never complete without visiting the animals! We had a great day picking strawberries and a delicious evening eating them!

Playdate!

John has been asking to have a playdate with his friend, Scottie from school. Afterschool, John had Scottie over to have lunch and to play! The boys had a blast playing in the backyard...riding the Gator, playing in the sandbox & with the water table! It was so cute to watch them play! This was John's first "offical playdate" with a friend from school! He is growing up way to fast!

No more Kindergarten Baby...

Made out of Gravy! Donnie always jokes with Katie that she is a "Kindergarten Baby Made out of Gravy"! As Katie puts it, "I ain't no Kindergarten baby made out of gravy anymore!" She is officially a 1st grade baby! Here she is on her last day of Kindergarten!

She has certainly changed a lot since the first day of Kindergarten...
I am so proud of Katie! She is reading, writing, adding & subtracting! 1st grade here she comes!

Lets Play Ball...

T-ball season is over! The kids had a lot of FUN hitting the ball, running the bases, learning the field positions, and playing in the dirt! All the kids got medals to celebrate the final game! Way to go Katie & John!
