Mohonk Retreat

I was fortunate to spend the weekend at Mohonk Mountain House for a PWOC Retreat! It is a beautiful Victorian Castle. A perfect getaway to renew your spirit and reconnect with God. We had a wonderful speaker, Jennifer Degler who lead us through her workshop on Creating a Life You Love and No More Christian Nice Girl. We also had plenty of free time to relax and enjoy our lovely surroundings too. I spent most of my free time at the spa, which was a real treat! I am so very blessed and have so much to be thankful in my life.

I was supposed to room with my bestie, Brooke, but her Granny B passed away and she wasn't able to go to the retreat. I was so sad that we were not able to spend the weekend together. But, I am so thankful that Renee was able to join me and be my roomie for the weekend! I love how much you really learn about someone after spending the weekend with them. God brought Renee and I together that weekend for a reason. I know that now beyond a shadow of a doubt. Thank you Lord for putting so many wonderful friends in my life.

Funky Dance!

John & Luke love to play Hullabaloo! The best part is when Luke wins and does his "funky dance"!!! He cracks me up with his dance moves! He must have gotten them from his Daddy!

Spring is here!?!

It's the first day of Spring and it is snowing! I guess that is what Spring is like in the North! I think this is God's way of preparing me for living at Fort Drum!

St.Patrick's Day in NYC

It was a beautiful day to be in NYC!!! Our first stop was the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum. This is something that the kids have always wanted to see up close in NYC. Of course, it was even more fun with their cousins! It was really cool to be aboard the USS Intrepid, which is now berthed on the Hudson River. The view from the back of the aircraft carrier was amazing! It is hard to imagine just how big an aircraft carrier is until you are on one!

Fire!!! Kamikaze Attack! During the "Story of the Intrepid" it takes you back to November 25, 1944, when Intrepid was struck by two kamikaze suicide planes. The film tells the story of these deadly attacks through the eyes and voices of two Intrepid crew members. They even had smoke start to fill the area when the fire burst out! It was a really neat experience.

Then it was finally time for some stuff you could actually play on!!! They all LOVED being able to get hands on!

After a lunch and super fun NY taxi ride it was time to visit the Empire State Building & go on the NY Skyride! Look it is the Statue of Liberty inside the Empire State Building!

It was a georgous day! You could see for miles and miles. The view from the Empire State Building was breathtaking! Absoultly beautiful!

I hope that oneday our kids can look back on the experinces we have had in NY and remember what a special time in our lives it was for our family!

Mamma Mia...

My Mom has always wanted to see a show on Broadway, so since this was her last trip to NYC while we are living at West Point, we decided to spend a girls day in NYC and see Mamma Mia! We had lunch at Ellen's Stardust Diner, to get our day on Broadway started off right! The singing wait staff was really entertaining!

Then it was off to see Mamma Mia! The show was great and it was fun to sing along to ABBA's greatest hits!

I love this picture of the three of us! We were trying to get a picture of the Mamma Mia sign and the three of us, but just couldn't seem to make it happen!

Hotdogs...

Luke loves to go to "his school" at the CDC. They play games, sing songs, do art projects. On this particular day they drew a picture of their favorite food. Luke drew this picture and told Miss Amy & Miss Jenni it was "a hotdog, yah hotdogs." I love his imagination!

Toothless Wonder!

Katie pulled her 2nd tooth and couldn't wait to see how much the toothfairy would bring her this time! Too bad the 2nd tooth doesn't pay as much as the first one!
