I never know how we are going to be spending Valentine's Day...over the years we have had special dates, surprise magic roses in the front yard, family dinners, & special cards...Donnie & I even got engaged on Valentine's Day 12 years ago...Valentine's Day is a day celebrate another year of love and to celebrate the chance to tell each other "I love you!" Happy Valentine's Day!

Viva! Las Vegas Night

I was in charge of the Silent Auction for the West Point Women's Club Viva! Las Vegas Night fundraiser. I couldn't have pulled it off without Renee, who brought in all of the donations & helped me set up that day! The night was a huge success & we raised over $16,000 for grants & scholarships! I even won a few of the items in the Silent Auction! This spring Donnie & I will be enjoying our beautiful new Adirondack chairs!

Big Day for Katie!

Katie started taking skiing lessons this year. I figure if we are going to be living in New York for 3 more years, then she might as well learn. She really LOVES it and has been begging her teacher to take her up on the "big hill" since her second lesson. She officially graduated from the bunny slope to the big hill tonight!

After an awesome night on the slopes, Donnie discovered that Katie's permanent tooth was starting to come in behind her baby tooth. Katie has had this wiggly, wobbly tooth for a while now, but it just hasn't been ready to come out, but when your other tooth is already coming in, then I think it is time for the baby tooth to go!

She pulled it out all by herself! Way to go Katie!

She couldn't be more proud of this toothless smile! Katie is the last kid in her first grade class to loose her first tooth! This is a day she has been dreaming of...

We wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy asking if she would leave Katie's tooth because she wanted to save it in her first tooth box. Sure enough, the Tooth Fairy left her tooth and $5.00! I think the Tooth Fairy must pay extra for the 1st tooth!

...there are so many special moments with your kids that you want to remember forever, but it is the milestones like these that make you realize just how fast they are growing up...

It's Good to be an Army Wife!

After going to the Martha Stewart Show last month, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go back and see the show again, but with a few more friends this time! The show was about Valentine's Day flowers, quilts, & some cooking! After Martha found out that she had 15 Army wives from West Point in the audience she scrapped her last segment, and thanked us and our families for our service by inviting us on stage & giving us a quilt from her Martha Stewart Collection (that was on top of the $50 gift card she gave the whole audience)! We were all very surprised and thrilled to be on camera with Martha! An experiece that I will never forget!

Groundhog Day!

I have always loved Groundhog Day! It was my grandmother's birthday & it is my newphew, Parker's birthday, plus I think it is fun to see if the Groundhog sees his shadow or not! Lucky for us, he did not see his shadow this year, so Mr. Groundhog is predicating an early spring! And with the grueling winter we are having in NY, I would like nothing more than an early spring!

The kids are on Snow Day #7 for the year. Today was really an Ice Day, so we spent the day playing inside. Polly Pockets...

This little pirate needed a nap! But, he made sure to keep his pirate treasure close by in his bed! I love that he wanted to nap in his pirate dress-up clothes!
