Lady Liberty!
We spent the day visiting Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Something that was on our "To Do" list before we move from NY...We had perfect weather to see the breath taking sights of the NYC skyline, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty!
We boarded the Miss Ellis Island Ferry from the NJ side per the advice of our friends who had done this trip before us! And they were right, it was much less crowded than the NY ferries!

Brady, John Katie, & Luke watching as the boat pulls up to Ellis Island! Our friends,The Willkison's joined us on our Lady Liberty adventure! It is always fun to have friends to share these moments with...
We watched a quick (because the kids couldn't sit through it all) film about the immigration station at Ellis Island. Then we visited the 3 floors of the Main Building. The Registry Room today...
The Dormitory Room, what the beds looked like for immigrants who had to stay overnight...
Pretending to drive one of the steam ships to Ellis Island...

Gymnast...
Katie decided to take a break from dance this year and get back into gymnastics! As you can see, she makes a VERY CUTE gymnast! She is really enjoying gymnastics! She loves putting chalk on her hands to use the bars! And she is also starting to get her cart wheel down! I have been taking pictures since she started the beginning of September, but it is hard to snap a good picture from up in the stands when they are moving so fast! So here are a few pictures to show you what she has been doing in gymnastics...

John 3:16
For God so loved the world
That He gave His one and only Son,
That whoever believes in Him shall
not perish but have eternal life.
Katie went to Awana's with a friend on Sunday, to see what it was all about...she was hesitant to go at first, but went anyway and had a great time! That night we talked about what she did and what she learned at Awana's. She recited the bible verse John 3:16 that she had learned, and we talked about what the verse means... She didn't understand WHY God would send his only son to die for us, for her... we talked about how Jesus was perfect, and how he was who God sent to die for our sins. And that he did this because he LOVES us and wants us to be a part of His family in heaven one day. We talked about heaven and living with God in heaven. We have had many conversations about heaven, especially since, Uncle Justin has gone to live in heaven. We talked about what being a Christian means...having Jesus in your heart, and about the "special prayer" that you need to say so that you can become a Christian, and have Jesus in your heart and live forever in heaven. Then she said, "I want to be a Christian and say my "special prayer". I can't remember exactly, what she prayed as the two of us sat on her bed together, but it was the sweetest prayer I have ever heard, thanking God for sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross for her sins so that she can live with him forever in heaven, she ended her prayer with, "I love you, God! Amen! " October, 3, 2011 will forever be a special day! Thank You Jesus!

Rock the Black & Gold...
an Army Football Game is something everyone should experience at West Point! There is so much to take-in at a game besides Army Football...Black Knight Alley, Army Cheerleaders, the Army Mules, the Cadets, the Army Parachute Team, and of course, all of the yummy concession food! We usually get season tickets, but decided to forgo them this year, so Homecoming was our first game of the season! Army vs. Temple! We spent our pre-game time at Black Knight Alley enjoying some tasty beverages and food with friends!!!
After a week of rain, rain and more rain...the sun was finally out and we enjoyed beautiful weather at the game! At Army Football Games, good weather=the Army Parachute Team jumping the game ball into Michie Stadium! It is always fun to watch the Parachute Team! The highlight of the game for me and the kids!
